Third Day - "Cry Out to Jesus"

Humility is a difficult lesson to learn. It is something I wrestle with on a regular basis because I want to overcome my circumstances; I want to solve my problems. The truth of the matter is that God is the only one who can resolve many of my situations. He is the only source that can instruct me, empower me and sustain me during the most trying times. Apart from Him I possess nothing that motivates me to stand against temptations, to wage war against my "flesh." I am frustrated at times with my own inability to make progress in certain areas of my life; I should have learned particular lessons by this point, but yet I falter and fail. It is so easy to become disillusioned with the present circumstances, to get caught up in the setbacks that you forget about the successes and the blessings. This song encourages people to cry out to Jesus in the midst of the storms, in the middle of the dark valleys. Not everything in life makes sense, and God does not always provide us with the answers we seek. However, I believe that He encourages us to ask questions, to converse with Him in an open and honest manner because He already knows our thoughts. We should not deliver monologues to God, but dialogue with Him. We should speak and allow Him time to respond to us. A conversation is two-sided, and at some point, according to His timing, He will provide insight; He will offer revelation. I encourage you to cry out to Jesus, to rediscover how awesome, how mighty He is, and at the same time to rediscover His love, His grace, His interest in you. Do not allow pride to be your stumbling block; just cry out to Jesus.

To everyone who's lost someone they love
Long before it was their time
You feel like the days you had were not enough
when you said goodbye

And to all of the people with burdens and pains
Keeping you back from your life
You believe that there's nothing and there is no one
Who can make it right

There is hope for the helpless
Rest for the weary
Love for the broken heart
There is grace and forgiveness
Mercy and healing
He'll meet you wherever you are
Cry out to Jesus, Cry out to Jesus

For the marriage that's struggling just to hang on
They lost all of their faith and love
They've done all they can to make it right again
Still it's not enough

For the ones who can't break the addictions and chains
You try to give up but you come back again
Just remember that you're not alone in your shame
And your suffering

When your lonely (when you're lonely)
And it feels like the whole world is falling on you
You just reach out, you just cry out to Jesus
Cry to Jesus

To the widow who suffers from being alone
Wiping the tears from her eyes
For the children around the world without a home
Say a prayer tonight
