Two Days After My Last Post I suffered a Stroke

Two days after my last post, on March 5th, I suffered a stroke. The hemorrhagic stroke was brought on by means of an AVM If you're unfamiliar with this check out the link I have provided I had never heard of it before this time - short, this could have killed me. I found out through a doctor that the EMT's who escorted me to Hershey Medical Center weren't even sure if I would make it. It's terrifying to think that death was that close to me, but God preserved me, so I must have more work to do. I am so thankful that I survived; it has changed my perspective. I no longer overlook the little blessings in life. I was discharged from the hospital After spending a total of six weeks in the hospital,  between  the Medical Center  and Penn State Hershey Rehabilitation Hospital. I am home now, and have been home for three weeks or so. I continue to improve each week, and see progress being made. My left side was weakened as a result of the stroke, but I already have movement returning to my arm, hand, and leg. I am coming back. God is so worthy of praise, He carried me through this ordeal, and continues to hold my hand. Thankfully my speech, and my memory were not affected by the stroke I have physical therapy, and occupational therapy twice a week, I am worked hard during those sessions, but to see my limbs come back to life makes it worthwhile. I continue to receive positive reports, and I am believing that God will grant me a full recovery. You may pray for me, if God has placed that on your heart. I just want you to know that prayer works. I am alive and doing well because of prayer. People I don't even know have been and are praying for me, and those prayers have been and are currently being answered, I am blessed, you are blessed, and even though this happened to me God is still worthy of praise and thanksgiving. Be sure to thank Papa today, and to lift up His name. He will be right there with you when you traverse those shadowlands, that Valley of Death. He will never forsake you Trust in Him, and believe in the power of prayer, Prayer works everyone; you cannot tell me otherwise, not after what I have endured. I am still here, and I cannot wait to see what God has in store for me. I want to glorify His name. We serve a loving, and amazing God; Don't forget that simple truth.
Blessings to each and every one of you

  1. Marty, you are strong and God has great plans for your life. He will use this. You are incredible, my friend, and my life would not be the same without you in it. Thank you for being such a close and dear friend. What a Spirit it reveals in you how you praise God so even through all of this. You're a good man, a man of God.

    Your brother and friend,
